Expensive heat pump

Industry experts warn that state subsidies could be ineffective.

Dusseldorf, Berlin The federal government has announced a “major socio-political support measure” for the coming year – for all those who can then no longer easily afford a new heating system. Because from 2024, every newly installed heating system should be operated with 65 percent renewable energies. Pure oil or gas heating systems are then no longer an option.

With billions in aid, the state wants to ensure that consumers can also finance the expensive offers that heating installers are currently presenting to them. The traffic light coalition is currently deliberating on the design of this aid, while the CDU is formulating a position paper, according to Zeit Online, in which it calls for climate-neutral heating to be subsidized with at least 50 percent of the costs.
