Dusseldorf The labor market in Germany has changed into an employee market. But the “Great Resignation” that has gripped America does not exist in this country. One reason for the absence of the wave of layoffs is that many applicants in Germany wrongly underestimate their chances on the job market.

But there are brave candidates who would not hesitate to resign. One in eight job seekers in German-speaking countries has already given notice without having a new offer ready. This is the result of a survey conducted by the recruiting provider Softgarden among almost 2,200 applicants in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The Handelsblatt was able to view the results in advance.
