Düsseldorf, Brussels, Munich At the end of February, the mood in Baden-Baden was euphoric. At its engine congress, the supplier industry celebrated the latest initiative by Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP). Finally he had campaigned in Brussels for the interests of the battered drive supplier industry. This is what one participant at the congress reported.

A few days earlier, Wissing had announced that it would not agree to a negotiated agreement in the European Union on the ban on internal combustion engines. The law with the strict CO2 fleet limits for cars will only be passed if the EU Commission also allows combustion engines to be approved after 2035. E-fuels should ensure that these cars can then also be driven in a climate-neutral manner.
