Where savers can park their money against interest

Frankfurt After all: There are now significantly more interest rates for overnight and fixed-term deposits as a result of the interest rate turnaround by the central banks. Rates have risen by around a third since the beginning of the year. Investors receive up to 2.55 percent for overnight money available every day, as observed by the Frankfurt-based financial services provider FMH-Finanzberatung. For fixed deposits over a year, there are up to 3.35 percent.

But many savers are concerned about the security of their deposits at local banks in the face of the turbulent takeover of the ailing Swiss bank Credit Suisse and the recent bank failures in the USA. Experts recommend paying attention to adequate insole protection, not just to calm your nerves.

“Deposit protection is moving more into the focus of savers,” confirms Ania Scholz-Orfanidis from FMH-Finanzberatung. The uncertainty about the latest bank quake should be reason enough to deal intensively with the topic, she says.
