Berlin High price, falling government premiums, long delivery times. These are three reasons to decide against electromobility when buying a car. On the other hand, sustainability, climate protection and the approaching end of combustion engines speak against buying a new petrol or diesel engine.

An alternative can be a used combustion engine: Not only is it cheaper to buy, it is also sustainable because it does not have to be rebuilt. That’s the theory.

The practice is not quite that simple. Depending on the age and size of the vehicle, the purchase price is actually significantly cheaper and the loss in value is also significantly lower than with a new car. According to the ADAC auto club, buyers currently have to pay more than 40,000 euros for a new Golf class e-car.
