Mona’s Struggle for Independence
Mona arrives late at the Spoon, and the reason is quite significant—she’s in the midst of moving in with Joël. Bart and Audrey express their excitement about this new chapter in her life, but Mona’s reaction suggests otherwise. They quickly deduce that she seems anxious about the prospect of coupledom.
Later in the day, Mona takes a stroll with Joël along the picturesque port of Sète. During their conversation about the future, she reveals her hesitation to cohabit, citing her desire to avoid losing her sense of self.
Back at the Spoon, Mona confides in Mélody about her decision to inform Joël that she doesn’t want to live with him. However, the situation is more complex than that; Mona is grappling with the idea of being in a relationship at all. Mélody advises her to come clean to Joël before he gets hurt.
Meanwhile, Joël visits Georges at the police station to express his concerns. He feels that Mona is keeping something from him and speculates whether it has to do with their sleeping arrangements, doubting the comfort of her bed. Will Joël finally figure out what’s really going on?
Growing Distance Between Axel and Chloé
As the morning unfolds, Axel informs his wife, Chloé, that his phone tragically met its end in an oyster basket, necessitating a new purchase. Chloé urges him to take a breather, as he seems overwhelmed with work and prone to making mistakes.
As she prepares to head to the Sète hospital, Chloé receives a message from her colleague, Benny, reminding her about a New Year’s party scheduled for that evening. She leaves home without mentioning it to Axel.
In the morning, Chloé tells Benny she won’t be attending the party, leaving him disappointed. In a moment of miscommunication, he accidentally sends a text intended for Chloé to Axel instead.
When Axel powers on his new smartphone with Bruno’s assistance, he receives the unintended message from Chloé. Surprised to see her affectionately calling him “my darling,” he responds warmly.
As night falls, Chloé gets ready for the party, donning a ski outfit that amuses Octave. Axel drops by briefly to say hello, but fatigue soon drives him to lie down.
Chloé finds Axel in their bedroom, where she admits, “We are not in sync right now, and I often feel guilty for not being there for you.” Axel reassures her, allowing her to go enjoy her evening.
Achille Realizes He’s in Over His Head
The day after his date with Soizic, Achille takes it upon himself to uncover Aurore’s true identity, discovering she’s a police captain in Sète. Feeling deceived, he grapples with anger. Meanwhile, Soizic wonders why Aurore attempted to reach out to her the night before.
During a conversation with Samuel, William expresses gratitude for their assistance but reveals his confusion about Aurore’s intentions. “If Aurore breaks up with him, it’s to escape, not to rekindle anything with me. I just don’t understand,” he shares.
At the police station, Aurore tries to contact Achille, sensing that he might have uncovered her secret. Simultaneously, Aude Trivier, the woman who shot Aurore, prepares her weapon while surrounded by photos of Achille.
At lunchtime, Soizic and François share a meal at the Spoon, where she confesses to signing up for a dating app to ensnare Aurore. François is taken aback and frustrated that she flirted with another man.
Soizic attempts to reassure him, stating, “He’s nothing, don’t let it get to you.” François reluctantly agrees to look over the messages exchanged between Soizic and Achille, but it only deepens his hurt.
As the day concludes, Aurore waits for Achille on a bench by the sea, in communication with Karim through an earpiece. Achille approaches her, declaring that he no longer needs the money since he’s managed to pay off his client, before walking away.
At the same time, Aude Trivier prepares to take her shot. Achille leaves Aurore alone, and she informs Karim, “He realized that we’re trying to catch him…”
