Dusseldorf Sometimes it goes like this: A female employee finds a male colleague’s payslip on the copier. Same job, same experience – and 35 percent more salary. “One of my clients experienced that,” says negotiation trainer Claudia Kimich. “But if she had run straight to her boss in a rage, she would certainly not have gotten the raise that we got in the end.”

Not only because of the often still existing salary gap between men and women, within a team there can definitely be larger differences in earnings. The salary is often a well-kept secret, but if the differences are brought up, the next salary interview is quickly arranged with the boss.
