Berlin According to calculations by the consulting firm McKinsey, which is available to the Handelsblatt, the current gas price crisis has cost the German economy “more than 100 billion euros this year.” This has essentially gone to gas producers outside Germany. For the consultants, this is just proof that German energy policy is damaging the location.
Calculations by the management consultancy for the Handelsblatt reveal a number of weak points in Germany’s energy supply.
They concern the power generation system, the dependency on imports in many areas of energy supply, the price level and the future role of natural gas. In principle, McKinsey advises in the analysis to give greater consideration to economic efficiency and security of supply in addition to questions of sustainability. The points in detail:
