Werder Bremen: 30,000 fans expected: are the Ultras coming back now? – Bundesliga

The upcoming home game against Heidenheim (Friday, 6.30 p.m.) is a small milestone. For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the Weser Stadium is completely open to spectators – under 2G conditions. Means: Anyone who has been vaccinated or recovered is allowed to go to the stadium. There are exceptions for children or visitors who are not allowed to be vaccinated.

Among other things, because day tickets only go on sale at short notice and opponent Heidenheim hardly brings fans with them, Werder does not expect a completely full hut. President Hubertus Hess-Grunewald: “30,000 would be a clear sign and a gratifying number.”

The big question: Are the Ultras coming back now too?

So far: all or none. That is why the Ultras were not in the stadium when the spectator capacity was still limited. But now the general conditions have changed. Still there are question marks. There are obviously reservations, as the tickets are personalized so that the chain can be traced in the event of infection. In addition, some fans are dissatisfied because Werder is sticking to fixed admission times. However, there is no clear announcement from the Ultras (yet).

Hess-Grunewald is hoping for the Ultra return and a boost for the team: “With a larger crowd of spectators and a corresponding atmosphere, we can unleash a force that supports the team.”

If you are not allowed to go to the stadium because you do not want to be vaccinated, you can return your season ticket and receive a portion of the money back. The day tickets that go on sale (cheaper than in the 1st division) are first offered to members and then to other interested parties. In the stadium, spectators are advised to wear a mask, but from now on they are no longer compulsory.
