“We want to grow organically in Germany”

The 65-year-old head of the major US bank JP Morgan wants to expand business in Germany, but does not plan any takeovers in Europe.

New York, Frankfurt America’s largest bank, JP Morgan Chase, attacks Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank in their core business. The bank is expanding its offerings for German medium-sized companies that are already JP Morgan customers in the USA. The two major German banks “do it very well, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t do it too,” said CEO Jamie Dimon in an interview with Handelsblatt.

Dimon is the longest-serving boss of a Wall Street bank and is currently on talks with employees and regulators in Germany.

In the course of Brexit, JP Morgan restructured its European business and relocated assets to the new European headquarters in Frankfurt. This will make the institute one of the five largest banks in Germany in terms of assets from next year.
