The snow crystals glisten white in the midday sun. The idyllically resting Tegernsee opens up in front of me and radiates an incredible calm. In the background the Bavarian Pre-Alps – in front of the majestic Wallberg, the Hirschberg, the Leonhardstein I slowly do my run around the lake. I’m enjoying every moment in this currently candy winter wonderland.
But things are bubbling on the shore: Top dogs like the Spa & Resort Bachmair Weissach are expanding with further branches, houses like the Severins are new and the Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt always surpasses itself in terms of gastronomy the Tegernsee, why this valley is probably the most popular holiday destination for Germans next to Sylt. What’s more, the healing microclimate and the luxurious hotels are known and loved far beyond the German borders.
