USA Moves 40,000 Bitcoins (BTC) in Hands! Will it sell?

Falcon statements from Fed Chairman Powell yesterday bitcoin and increased selling pressure on risky assets and Bitcoin retreated to $22,000 levels.

While Bitcoin continues to trade at $22,000, the rebound of 40,000 BTC worth $880 million, which last moved in March 2022, made investors nervous.

Data analysis company Glassnode announced in a statement that the 40,000 BTC that moved were BTCs in wallets seized by the US government due to the SilkRoad lawsuit.

While the majority of BTCs were distributed to wallets in the form of internal transfers, 9861 BTC were sent to the Coinbase exchange.

Will 9861 BTC sent to Coinbase be sold, while Glassnode has announced that they will continue to monitor BTCs in action? The question made the investors partly uneasy.

The control of the wallets is in the hands of the US government. For now, there is no clear information as to why 40,000 BTC has been moved or whether it will be sold.

The US had previously auctioned 174,000 BTC, which it had seized in connection with crime. It remains to be seen whether a similar sale will take place.
