For this reason, Iranian government officials began to impose bans, which they saw as an oppressive but effective solution method. Chief among these was curbing internet freedom. But the United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, gave the green light to Elon Musk, the owner of the Starlink satellite internet service, to put an end to this situation.
Elon Musk opens Starlink satellite internet service to Iranian people!
The idea of satellite internet has been on the agenda of the whole world for many years. Of course, Starlink, the company of Elon Musk, takes the lead in this area. It currently has more than 2,000 satellites in orbit. Moreover, it managed to get permission from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to increase this number to 40 thousand by 2027.
To briefly explain this service, Starlink satellites, which are sent to low earth orbit (160-2 thousand km) rather than medium (2 thousand – 35 thousand km) unlike other satellites and therefore can be seen even with the naked eye, are similar to the dish antennas we use for TVs. Thanks to the receivers, it provides fiber-speed internet service.

The Starlink network is expanding its borders day by day. The company wants to increase the quality of the service it provides on aircraft.
Therefore, you can have high-speed internet in every part of the world, regardless of whether you are in the heart of a metropolis, at the top of the most deserted mountain, or in the desert or Antarctica.
In other words, as Elon Musk stated after the statement made by United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, if the Starlink service is opened to the use of Iranian people, the people living there will have high-speed free internet without being affected by the government’s bans.
In the statement made by Blinken, it was stated:
“Today, we took action to ensure the continuation of the Internet and information freedom of the Iranian people. As a result, we have issued a general license to counter Iranian government censorship and allow communication to continue.”
