US wealth managers are outperforming European competition

Frankfurt The large US wealth managers are continuing to expand their leading market position and, with a few exceptions, have outpaced their European competitors. Top money managers Blackrock and Vanguard are now in a league of their own, both in terms of sheer size and pace of growth. This is the result of a new analysis by Strategy&, PwC’s strategy consultancy.

“The continental European asset managers are often still offshoots of banks and insurance companies, which are growing much more slowly than independent asset managers,” says Utz Helmuth, Director at Strategy& Switzerland.

The consultants also expect for the future that the Anglo-Saxon asset managers will grow significantly faster than the competition in continental Europe.
