US Blacklists Russian-Linked Crypto Wallets

OFAC, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s enforcement agency, Office of Foreign Assets Control. bitcoin and from Ethereum announced that it has blacklisted two different cryptocurrency wallet addresses.

The Ministry made a press release on its official website and touched on the details of the sanction. OFAC, which plays an intermediary role in Russia’s arms exports Rosoboroneksport OAO targeted the crypto wallets of Igor Zimenkov, the founder of the company, and his son, Jonatan Zimenkov.

Authorities found that these two people were in direct contact with Russian defense industry companies that are under the sanctions. According to the report, Russian businessmen reach customers for all kinds of security services, from cyber security to helicopters.

“With our investigation, we found that Jonatan and Igor Zimenkov are in close ties with Russian defense companies that were sanctioned due to the Ukraine war. Father and son played a major role in the Russian export of military technology abroad.”
