Claudine Takes Action in Janet’s Case
Serge Levars visits the BGL office to discuss the situation of Mr. Bréval with Johanna. The lawyer has successfully persuaded his client to forego filing a complaint against Janet and instead opt for a conciliation process.
Unfortunately, the doctor is still unwilling to apologize to Eloi. Johanna requests some time to change her mind. In terms of the conciliation, the lawyer informs her that the hospital is prepared to offer €5,000 in damages to Mr. Bréval, a reduction from the €10,000 he initially sought. They come to an agreement on this point.
Later in the day, the hospital director informs Janet that she has just spoken with Maître Lemeur, and Mr. Bréval has accepted their compensation proposal. Janet is taken aback that the hospital has agreed to this settlement, but the director clarifies that it is a better option than engaging in a costly legal battle.
Janet reassures her that the patient was in good condition during her last visit. The director believes her but insists on resolving the issue quickly. She then urges Janet to apologize to Mr. Bréval.
Janet feels distressed at the thought of admitting to a mistake she did not make. She heads to the office to prepare for the conciliation scheduled for the day after tomorrow.
The lawyer advises that she must apologize to Mr. Bréval for not taking his symptoms seriously, but she should do so with minimal sincerity. This approach would help resolve the matter swiftly. Eventually, Janet agrees to this plan.
Hours later, Johanna checks in with Claudine and Florent. The lawyer is optimistic that the conciliation will go smoothly. However, Claudine expresses her dissent, suggesting that the firm should counterattack and file a slander lawsuit against Bréval. Johanna, however, is not on board with this strategy.
Once alone, Claudine reaches out to Becker, urging him to convince Janet to reject Johanna’s advice and take a more aggressive stance. Claudine is aware that Janet is reluctant to apologize, having overheard her in the office.
Clément then advises Claudine to stay out of it. She confides in her ex-husband about her desire to make amends with Janet. However, Becker is skeptical that Claudine’s involvement will improve the situation and ends the call abruptly.
Upon returning home, Becker informs Janet about Claudine’s call, leaving the doctor perplexed as to why she would interfere.
Is Eve in Peril?
Eve meets Charles in an underground parking garage, where he hands her an envelope containing €1,000. It’s all he could manage as an advance from his employer. He wishes he could provide more but has already given his entire savings to Eliott last week.
Grateful, Eve acknowledges his generosity. She too has depleted her housing savings plan, which totaled €15,000, and she has taken out a consumer loan of €10,000. She hopes that the combined €26,000 will be sufficient to stall Curtis. However, Charles remains unconvinced.
Curtis is a volatile individual with little patience. He suggests that Eve discuss the situation with Manu, but Eve declines, fearing it would complicate matters and force Manu to betray Eliott. Charles insists that Eliott would be safer behind bars, but Eve is adamant about not wanting to see her son only in a prison visiting area for the next fifteen years.
Meanwhile, Muriel is furious with Eliott for his insistence on returning to Abidjan. Eliott argues that he is trying to do what’s best for her and Toma. He pleads for her trust, but she counters that his past lies make that impossible. She demands honesty from him, but he refuses.
After yet another fallout with Elise and Thierry, Curtis contacts Eve to arrange a meeting that evening. As night falls over Montpellier, Eve meets the trafficker at the designated spot. He is on the phone.
He tries to reach Yvan, his associate, who was supposed to arrive before him but gets no response. Eve then hands Curtis an envelope containing only €16,000. She requests an extension for the remaining balance; however, Curtis insists on receiving the full €50,000 immediately.
He then threatens to go after Eliott and his family. At that moment, a man on a motorcycle pulls up next to them and shoots Curtis at point-blank range. Curtis collapses to the ground, leaving Eve in a state of shock.
