Ukrainian presidential adviser: “We’ll bleed them dry”

Kyiv Ukraine has achieved surprising success with its counter-offensive. Michailo Podoljak, adviser to the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaks about the successes and the further course of the war. Ukraine now wants to further increase the pressure. “We let them bleed dry,” says Podoljak.

The counter-offensive showed Russian society that Russia could lose the war. Ukraine wants to continue the offensive into the winter.

The consultant clearly rejects the cession of territory as part of a negotiated solution. The war can only end “within our 1991 borders,” says Podoljak. It would also have disadvantages for the EU if Ukraine were to cede territory. Russia would also see them as losers.
