Ukraine confirms talks on fighter jets and new missiles

Kyiv calls on Hungary to end anti-Ukrainian rhetoric

The government in Kyiv is calling on Hungary to stop anti-Ukrainian comments from the government. Ambassador Istvan Ijdjarto has been summoned to protest Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s recent derogatory statements, the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said in a statement. “The Hungarian side was asked to stop this negative trend in order to prevent irreparable consequences for the relations between the two countries.”

Hungary has criticized the EU sanctions against Russia and does not supply arms to Ukraine. The Foreign Ministry in Kyiv said last week that Orban had described Ukraine as no man’s land to journalists and compared it to Afghanistan.
