UK Focuses Crypto Ads!

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) spoke about Arsenal’s fan token and said that the token in question violated its advertising rules.

The AFC coin, which is the subject of discussion on the website and Facebook page of the Arsenal football club, was also caught in the lens of ASA. Speaking specifically about crypto ads in recent weeks and issued a warning to citizens earlier this month, ASA said that English football club Arsenal was breaking the advertising rules. It was stated that the violations were related to a post on the club’s official website and Meta page.

According to the ASA, the English football club broke the advertising rules by introducing a token for fans. Because the investment risks of the token in question were not mentioned in the advertisements. However, according to the ASA, it should be clearly stated that such fan tokens are “crypto assets” in their own right.

The UK is very sensitive about cryptocurrency and related advertisements in the country. A week ago, seven crypto ads were banned and a red alert was issued about cryptocurrency ads.

Fan Tokens Are Very Popular!

The sports industry has long been a favorite space for crypto assets. Fan tokens have already earned football clubs millions.

The English Premier League, NBA, and MLS have all tried to run cryptocurrencies on their own brands. Many football clubs from Barcelona to Juventus have also issued their tokens. Many of these have been released through the sports-focused crypto platform Socios.
