Twitter Request from Dogecoin and Shiba Inu Community

Twitter has been bombarded with requests to accept donations with Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB), after accepting tips with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH). Both meme coin‘s communities also continue to appeal to Twitter.

Last September, Twitter increased the love for Bitcoin by allowing users to post tips with Bitcoin (BTC). It was recently announced that tips are accepted with Ethereum (ETH). Users can now add their own Ethereum addresses and addresses of Paytm as well as other international payment providers such as Paga, Barter by Flutterwave.

twitterWhile former CEO Jack Dorsey is an advocate of Bitcoin, it is speculated that his departure also led to the discovery of other cryptocurrencies.

Shortly after the news broke, Twitter was flooded with requests from popular meme coins Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus came up with the idea of accepting tips with a DOGE to the social media giant.

Markus also suggested that Dogecoin would be a better option given the high gas fees of the Ethereum network.

“Glad to see $ETH in the Twitter tip jar! Can we have $DOGE too, please? I strongly believe it will be the most used because of the low fees and Dogecoin community values.”

Ethereum’s high gas fee continues to be a problem for many. Taking advantage of this shortcoming of the network, the DOGE community requested Twitter to include the meme coin in its list of tippable crypto assets. Markus promised to tweet at least one #DogeTwitterTipJar every day until Twitter adds the meme coin.

The DOGE Community Wasn’t the Only One Demanding

Also, like Dogecoin, the Shiba Inu Army has demanded that the cryptocurrency be used as a Twitter tip alternative. Several people from the community continued to tweet suggestions to the social media giant on the same topic.

Also, despite launching the Bitcoin tip option in September, Twitter delayed the inclusion of Ethereum for months. Therefore, even if Twitter decides to integrate these meme coins, it will likely take some time.
