Twitter brought back chronological sorting by default

On Friday, Twitter released an update for its mobile apps. chronological order option by default on the home page lifted. Users started seeing popular tweets first, whether they wanted to or not, and the company also divided tweets into two different tabs, “recent” and “popular”.

There was a reaction to this situation from those who wanted to see the latest tweets by default on the home page as soon as they opened Twitter. “Are we going to swipe right every time to see posts in chronological order?” Users who criticize the company said that the experience was frustrating. Twitter, on the other hand, took a step back.

We heard you. Some of you always want to see the latest tweets first. As we continue to explore other options, we have reverted the timeline and removed the tabbed experience for now.

Of course, while Twitter has brought back the chronological order feature by default, it has not forgotten those who want to see popular tweets first on the homepage. Press the star icon in the upper right corner “Go to homepage”Every time you open the app after selecting i, you will see popular tweets customized to your interests.

When you want to switch to chronological order again, tap on the star icon again. “Switch to latest tweets”Just press e. When you do this, you will see the tweets shared by the people you follow on the main page in chronological order. The two separate tab experiences that came with the update released on Friday were also removed.
