Turkish Space Agency rolls up its sleeves for the first Turkish astronaut to go into space – SDN

The Turkish Space Agency was established at the end of 2018 as a result of the studies started in the past years and managed to launch the first astronaut program in such a short time. In addition, it continues to work for the spacecraft it has developed until the end of 2023 to make a hard landing on the surface of the Moon. In fact, it has finally performed a successful ignition test for the National Hybrid Propulsion System (HIS).

An explanation came from TUA about the mysterious green meteor!

Green light meteor seen from many points in Turkey, created panic. A statement came from the Turkish Space Agency on the subject.

The first Turkish astronaut selected by the Turkish Space Agency is going to space in 2023!

Turkish Space Agency (TUA) President Serdar Hüseyin Yıldırım shared the latest developments in Turkey’s space program at a conference he attended. In the statement made, he gave detailed information from the journey to the surface of the Moon to the selection of the first Turkish astronaut.

In the statement made by Yıldırım, it was said that a Turkish astronaut will be sent to space for the first time in the first half of 2023 (ie within 1 year) by the Turkish Space Agency. It is stated that the person who will go will be determined by the end of 2022 with a 2-3 month decision process. Then he will be ready for duty by participating in a training that lasts between 4 and 6 months.

The entire statement is as follows:

Our astronaut, which we will send to space, is going on a science mission. Hopefully, with the approval of our President, we will start the selection process for these astronaut candidates in the near future. We are in the final phase of this process.

Two people will be selected, there will be a pre-selection. Then there will be qualifiers with different criteria. The two selected people will go and receive training at the relevant institution. At the end of this training, our most successful candidate will go to the space station and stay there for a week and 10 days, perform our experiments and return.

In addition, it was said that the design of the spacecraft to be used in the lunar exploration mission will be completed in the next June. In addition, there will be a locality rate close to 70 percent. A successful first ignition test was carried out for the National Hybrid Propulsion System (HIS) recently. Therefore, it is stated that if there is no disruption in the program, we will reach the surface of the Moon between the last quarter of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024.

Just like NASA’s ISS space tourism project, the selected Turkish astronaut will do some special missions and experiments here. Therefore, let us state that the person who will go to space must meet some special criteria. For details, you can click here and contact TUA.
