Turkey’s supercomputer ARF was introduced!

ARF, a supercomputer with 55 thousand cores, was introduced today at a ceremony held in Ankara. The computer, named after Ordinary Professor Doctor Cahit Arf, performs the same operations that 35 thousand laptops do together. So what can be done with Turkey’s supercomputer ARF? Here are the details…

The ARF supercomputer, named after Turkish scientist Ordinary Professor Doctor Cahit Arf, was introduced today at a ceremony held in TÜBİTAK Ankara. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır also attended the launch ceremony of ARF, which was developed for use in the new data center opened in Ankara this year.

ARF, which ranks 313th among the world’s most equipped computers, has a total of 55 thousand cores. Having a liquid-cooled system, ARF can access more than 80 thousand computing cores. Introduced as equivalent to 35 thousand laptops, ARF was designed to be used in the work of TÜBİTAK and other Turkish research institutes.

In the following periods, ARF; It will be used to design simulation systems needed in the defense industry, pharmaceutical industry, disease detection, production, agriculture and many other fields. It will also become one of the largest memories of the new data center opened in Ankara.

Good news for those who constantly lose their phones! Google announced new developments

Google announced that there will be major innovations in the Find My Device application, which it uses for those who frequently lose their phones.

Artificial intelligence models, one of the trends of the new era, will also be developed with ARF. Wide-ranging and complex artificial intelligence models, especially needed in the field of engineering, can be designed and developed thanks to ARF.

ARF, whose first investment was made in 2023, was introduced in June 2024. The research to be carried out with ARF, which has the title of Turkey’s supercomputer, will be announced in the coming days. The research results are of great importance for Turkish science and industry.

So, what do you think about Turkey’s supercomputer ARF?
