Looking at the earnings rates of the last five years, the highest-earning professions in Turkey have been announced. According to Social Security Institution (SGK) data, changing working habits and economic conditions after the pandemic were also reflected in wage increases. While there was a 53.2 percent increase in average wages in dollar terms, this rate was much higher in some sectors.
Air transportation was at the top once again!
The average monthly gross wage for airline transportation, which is among the sectors that provide the highest income, is determined as 3,378 dollars. In the last five years, wage increase in this sector has been 58 percent. Both the high salaries and this rate of increase take the sector to the top among the highest-earning professions.

Additionally, the oil and gas extraction industry earns its workers an average of $3,146 per month. Although wage growth remains at 48.3 percent, the industry’s earnings potential is still very high. Similarly, workers in the coal extraction and oil products manufacturing sector earn $2,888, and wage growth in this field has reached 61.8 percent.
The financial services sector is also among the top earners. In this sector, which has over 88 thousand employees, the average monthly gross wage is $2,496. The wage increase rate is above average at 65.3 percent. In the field of technology, the computer programming and consultancy sector attracts attention.
Although the number of employees is high, it stands out as one of the sectors with the highest wage growth with an average salary of $2,313. The increase in this area is quite high with 69.6 percent.
In addition to these sectors, notable developments are also evident in areas such as creative arts, beverage manufacturing and mining. These sectors, which are expected to be among the most popular sectors in the coming period, also attracted attention as lucrative professional groups.
