Turkey scored 15 points in the ‘access blocking’ heading, 10 points in the ‘content limitation’ and 9 points in the ‘user rights violations’. With 34 points, it became the 59th country with the freest internet among 70 countries. In the area of ​​Internet purchasing power, it ranked 59th. The country with the freest internet was Iceland with 96 points.

The report also mentioned the content types that received the most access bans. According to the data, sites with domain names containing sexually-related keywords are among the most blocked sites. Pages about atheism are blocked for reasons such as ‘insulting religion’. Pages that could be propaganda for a terrorist organization were also quickly blocked, while the report also touched upon different factors that negatively affect internet use in Turkey.
