Turkey achieved a first in NATO history!

Turkey has managed to enter the top 3 in the world with the unmanned aerial vehicles it has developed. In fact, these SİHAs are shown as game changers in the wars they are involved in. Now, we see that a similar situation is experienced in marine vehicles. So much so that the new Marlin SİDA broke new ground in NATO history.

Marlin, the world’s first electronic warfare capable SİDA, participated in the NATO exercise!

We shared different SİDAs named Ulaq, Salvo, Sancar, Albatros S and Mir, which were developed in cooperation with the state and private sector in Turkey in the past period. While some of them can move in flocks, some of them can be used in coast guard and patrol duties.

However, Marlin SİDA, which went down in NATO history today, has a unique feature. Developed by ASELSAN and Sefine shipyard, this sea vehicle was used by NATO in international exercises as the world’s first SIDA with electronic warfare capability.

The passive exoskeleton system developed by Interact has been completed. Soldiers began the trial and testing process in the field.

Thanks to its electronic warfare systems, Marlin can jam the radar and communication network of enemy forces. In this way, the ships it accompanies can gain invisibility on the radar temporarily and under certain conditions.

Of course, Turkey is not alone in this area. It is known that especially the USA, China and Russia continue to work on unmanned submarines and SİDA. However, the fact that a large number of these vehicles were produced with different functions in one year in Turkey stands out as a great success.

In fact, it is possible to say in advance that the successes we see in the air are also realized in the sea. In addition, we see that in the next 20 years, unmanned warplanes will come after SİHAs. A similar situation will apply to ships.

If we give an example scenario for the point reached, these SİDAs, which contain many elements from cruise missiles to rockets and electronic warfare capabilities, can carry out a joint operation of 6 or higher in numbers.

It can approach the target unnoticed, destroy it and return it. In case of a possible failure, human life will not be endangered and its cost will not be even one-tenth of a warship. In other words, everything we said about unmanned aerial vehicles applies here as well.
