Washington The zoom interview with John Bolton should not last a minute too long. He has to leave on time because he still has a dentist appointment, explains Donald Trump’s former security adviser in the White House.

Bolton could soon get even more appointment stress. The Republican is considering entering the 2024 presidential race as a contender. Trump is a “real danger,” he says in an interview with the Handelsblatt.

In 2019, Bolton fell out with Trump and then wrote a bestseller about his time in the White House. The 74-year-old is considered a foreign policy hardliner and is calling for regime change in Iran, Syria and North Korea. He worked in top positions for George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan.

According to Bolton, Iran is a growing threat to the Middle East – and therefore also to the western world.
