New York and Washington The New York Times journalist Maggie Haberman is usually well informed about Donald Trump. “He’s angry,” she wrote the morning after the midterm elections. Trump is particularly angry about his protégé Mehmet Oz, a heart surgeon and TV doctor – and a political career changer, like Trump himself.
Trump had supported “Doctor Oz” in the Senate elections in the key state of Pennsylvania, but it was no use: he lost to Democrat John Fetterman. “Trump blames everyone who advised him to bet on Oz. Including his wife Melania.”
Trump may have overestimated himself – that’s a lesson from the US congressional elections. The cash flows of the ex-president, as could be observed in rows, are no longer a guarantee of victory. Also, the fanatical views of many Trump candidates who spread conspiracy theories about rigged elections seem to have put them off.
