TikTok challenge “deviouslick”: That’s why students are now even stealing washbasins – news abroad

This TikTok trend is a classic case of: Not only does it sound crazy, it is …

A new challenge is currently spreading among students in Great Britain and the USA: the so-called “Devious Lick”. “Devious” means devious in German, a “lick” is understood by teenagers as a coup in which something jumps out for the executor.

According to media reports, the Gaga story began with the account of a user named jugg4elias. At the beginning of September, he uploaded a video in which he proudly presented his prey: a pack of corona disposable masks that he claims to have stolen from school.

The clip was viewed hundreds of thousands of times, and the theft became a challenge. From then on, users posted increasingly absurd objects under the hashtag “Devious Lick”, which they actually or allegedly let go.

Corona masks became antigen tests, canteen cans and gym bags from classmates. Finally, disinfectant dispensers, toilet doors and even sinks and urinals! The fact that such large objects probably never left the school toilets is little consolation for educational institutions. Repairing a torn out sink or a worn urinal is expensive.

The first schools are publicly complaining about the thefts. On Facebook, for example, the Sunlake High School from Florida writes: “Soap dispensers, emergency exit signs, signs for the escape routes and classroom telephones are just some of the items that were stolen this week.”

At TikTok, the videos are clicked MILLIONSFOLD. The video portal is now taking action against the stupid actions.

A spokesman said “People”do not allow content that promotes crime. “We are removing this content”, TikTok expands its guidelines accordingly.
