Eat According to its own statements, the industrial group Thyssen-Krupp has become the target of a hacker attack. Parts of the materials division and the group management are affected. At this point in time, it can be ruled out that the other segments and business units are also affected, said a spokesman for the Materials Services division on Tuesday.

The company’s IT security recognized the incident early and is currently restoring the security of the system. Organized crime is believed to be behind the attack. The “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung” (WAZ) had previously reported on the attack.

An interdisciplinary crisis management team has been set up and is working together with IT security to limit the attack and ideally end it as quickly as possible. “At this point in time, no damage has occurred, nor are there any indications that data has been stolen or altered,” emphasized the spokesman. The responsible authorities are involved.

In the past fiscal year 2021/22, Materials Services was the Group’s top-selling division with 16.4 billion euros.
