Thousands of Corona demonstrators in German cities – France tightened rules, England ignored Omikron

At the Boxing Day Thousands of people in Germany were vaccinated against the corona virus again, but fewer than on the days before the holidays. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Monday, they were on Sunday administered around 65,000 doses (Status: Monday / 9.15 a.m.). Around 35,000 syringes were used on Saturday. The previous record was set on December 15 with a total of 1.6 million cans.

At least 58.9 million people have been vaccinated twice so far, according to Monday or received the single vaccination from Johnson & Johnson. That is 70.8 percent of the total population. At least 30.0 million people (36.0 percent) also received a “booster”. When it comes to booster vaccinations, Saarland is at the top (42.6 percent), followed by North Rhine-Westphalia (39.0 percent) and Lower Saxony (38.9 percent). Saxony brings up the rear (28.4 percent).

On the RKI dashboard, it is pointed out that the vaccination rates are to be understood as minimum vaccination rates, “since 100% coverage cannot be achieved by the reporting system”. The Robert Koch Institute assumes that the actual vaccination rate is up to five percentage points higher.
