Many Britons had used the long weekend around the throne jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and school holidays to travel abroad and wanted to return home on Sunday.

After layoffs over the course of the pandemic, companies still don’t have enough workers hired and operational to meet the rush of travel. The British government accused the industry of not having adequately prepared.
