Thodex Hijacker Fatih Özer Sent To Court

Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of the highlighted cryptocurrency exchange Thodex, was sent to the courthouse after being extradited from Albania to Turkey. Özer denied the fraud charges.

Thodex was established in 2017 as Turkey’s first global cryptocurrency exchange. The company established Turkey’s first Bitcoin ATM in 2020 and in over 120 countries started to serve.

However, on April 21, 2021, the company abruptly shut down on the pretext of system maintenance, preventing its users from accessing their accounts. Faruk Fatih Özer, the founder of the company, It turned out that he fled abroad.. An arrest warrant was issued for Özer and Interpol started to be searched by red notice.

Özer was caught and arrested in Albania on August 30, 2022. Albanian authorities accepted Turkey’s extradition request and handed Özer over to Turkey.

The Thodex profiteer was taken to the police station after he was brought to Turkey and his statement was taken here. Ozer, “I am not a fraudster. There is both winning and losing in this business. I don’t have any money. I distributed the money that I had. I gave everyone’s money. I want to give my official statement in court” it turned out he had stated. So he used his right to remain silent.
