Berlin In order to reduce the use of fossil fuels in the building sector, the federal government wants to promote the heat transition by replacing heating systems.

The Federal Ministry of Economics and the Federal Ministry of Building have therefore drawn up a draft law that is intended to regulate the switch to renewable energies. The joint draft, which the Handelsblatt has already reported on, is currently being discussed in the government. The heat pump is the standard solution for new builds, but other solutions are also conceivable in existing buildings.

The basis for all future regulations is the Building Energy Act (GEG), which, according to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), provides clear investment incentives and ensures pragmatic transitions.
