Berlin The demand for additional professional qualifications has been increasing for years. Whereas in 2010 42 percent of all 18 to 64 year olds took part in further training, the share in 2020, according to the Federal Ministry of Education, was already 60 percent (see graphic). According to a Forsa study, more than two-thirds of all respondents consider further training to be important or very important – among those under 36, even 87 percent.

Technical progress and digital change are driving this development.
