Dusseldorf Warren Buffett has once again cemented his reputation as an Apple fan. The 92-year-old major investor bought more than 20 million more shares in the iPhone maker in the first quarter of the year. This emerges from documents from the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which were published on Monday evening.
That leaves Apple by far the largest position in Buffett’s holding company Berkshire Hathaway’s US stock portfolio. The position is now worth more than $150 billion, and the shares newly acquired in the first quarter alone were worth more than $3 billion as of March 31. Buffett also added to another favorite stock: oil company Occidental Petroleum. He now owns shares worth $13 billion.
