Berlin, Dusseldorf One of the most successful LinkedIn posts by German CEOs in 2022 has three sentences. “Until further notice, we will make calls and SMS from landlines and mobile phones to Ukraine free of charge,” reads the first. Timotheus Höttges, Telekom boss, published it over a year ago. In sentences two and three, Höttges explains that the campaign applies to private and business customers and also to data roaming.
16,444 people liked the post, 243 users commented under it. This response shows that LinkedIn is no longer just a career platform where ambitious people exchange ideas with other ambitious people. LinkedIn has become more political. Höttges’ successful post makes this clear – but other CEOs of listed companies have long been using the platform for more than just glossy business content.
