Frankfurt If the prices wobble, at least the dividend should be right. Against this background, the asset management Janus Henderson examined in a study available to the Handelsblatt which companies pay the most dividends.

The result: In the third quarter of the current year, the top payers were the China Construction Bank with 13.2 billion dollars and the Australian mining company BHP with 12.7 billion. In both cases, more money flowed to the shareholders than the entire Commerzbank is worth.

The good news in an environment of inflation and recession concerns is that this liberality is no exception. Above all, the oil companies drove the sum of the payouts by around ten percent to 416 billion dollars and thus to a record for a third quarter.

Without this special effect, the development would hardly have changed compared to the previous year. Some of the companies have distributed their special profits in the form of special dividends due to the sharp rise in raw material prices.
