These are the topics of the year

Dusseldorf The year 2022 means a turning point for the world. The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine brought about historic changes, particularly in the climate and energy sectors. Gas, oil and electricity prices have risen faster than ever before. Citizens and companies had to fear for security of supply.

This has led to a boom in heat pumps and photovoltaic systems. People want to be less dependent on fossil fuels and live as energy self-sufficient as possible. In the short term, however, the consumption of fossil fuels has increased as a result of the crisis. The year 2022 was accordingly a setback for climate protection.

The Handelsblatt podcast “Green & Energy” takes up the topics of the year – and provides answers to the most important questions:

  • Is the end of the energy price crisis in sight? Kathrin Witsch discusses with energy expert Fabian Huneke from the market research company Energy Brainpool.
  • What is the climate balance for 2022? Kevin Knitterscheidt talks to Ottmar Edenhofer, Director and Chief Economist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research.
  • How do I become energy self-sufficient? Michael Scheppe in conversation with consumer advocate and energy expert Reinhard Loch.
