Berlin With a word of power, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) made it clear on Monday evening: All three nuclear power plants will remain online until mid-April 2023. But just one day later there was criticism of the lack of planning security for the companies. “The chancellor’s word of power hasn’t changed much,” says Albrecht von der Hagen from the Association of Family Businesses. The winter of 2023/24 will inevitably come and there will be bottlenecks in the energy supply again.

The Federation of German Industries (BDI) is also calling for an “open and factual discussion” for spring 2023 if it is necessary for the nuclear power plants to continue operating beyond April.
