The time for the annual talks begins. In the third year of the crisis, employers and employees are under pressure. Employees expect special support, but some bosses lack the leeway for salary increases. Wishes and demands could collide.
Arne Sjöström advises “targeted measures instead of the watering can principle” when it comes to allowances. On its Culture Amp online platform, around 3,000 companies collect employee experiences, which are evaluated in order to improve the respective corporate culture. From this, Sjöström derives the following maxim for 2023: “Employers need to be creative” in order to reward and retain employees.
A career expert, several HR managers from well-known companies and a specialist from the Taxpayers’ Association provide suggestions for employee benefits with which supervisors can counteract the increasing shortage of skilled workers and the declining loyalty of their employees – without permanently increasing remuneration.
