These 20 Events Next Week Will Impact Bitcoin and Altcoins! – Cryptokoin.com

As US regulators put pressure on cryptocurrency and the industry grapples with a broader banking crisis, new projects continue to evolve and move the industry forward. Polygon will launch the zkEVM main-net beta on March 27. Metaverse Fashion Week, hosted by Decentraland, returns for its second year this week. Here is the calendar of events and data for the next week that Bitcoin and altcoin traders should mark on their calendars.

Polygon launches zkEVM main-net beta

Polygon’s zkEVM main-net beta will go live Monday after a year in development. This network will provide a scalability solution for the Ethereum ecosystem, with zk-rollups performing off-chain computations on a secondary layer for faster and cheaper transactions while prioritizing security. The network will support the same code as Ethereum, which allows developers to use Ethereum applications without the need for significant changes. In the coming weeks, more developers may be interested in integrating their platforms with zkEVM.

cryptocoin.com As we have reported, decentralized lending protocol Aave was considering deploying a minimum valid version of Aave version 3 on its Tier 2 network. The protocol also proposed to include a consideration for the release of Aave’s GHO stablecoin on zkEVM. Other partnerships are already on the table. Polygon and web3 game maker Immutable announced last week that they are collaborating to launch a Layer 2 blockchain network called Immutable zkEVM.

Metaverse Fashion Week is back

Metaverse Fashion Week is back for another year. Following the ‘future heritage’ curatorial theme, Decentraland will host a series of runways, design competitions, boutiques and panels in the virtual world from March 28-31. This marks the second iteration of the event. This year focuses on bridging the physical and digital, and enabling interoperability between virtual worlds. Brands such as Adidas and Coach are participating for the first time, while returning participants include Dolce&Gabbana, Tommy Hilfiger and DKNY.

Alongside luxury firms, Dencentraland’s own designer community or neo designers will take the virtual scene. Decentraland Foundation Metaverse Fashion Week president Dr. “We are seeing the comeback of many luxury fashion houses, as well as the emergence and rise of digitally local fashion,” said Giovanna Graziosi Casimiro. Fashion brands are taking up more space in the metaverse. For example, companies like Gucci, Hugo Boss, and Louis Vuitton have already shown or appeared to be interested in entering metaverse spaces.

Australia to start CBDC pilot

A selection of 15 projects will launch a two-month trial period on March 31 to test different use cases of an Australian central bank-backed digital currency. Examples include using CBDCs for offline payments, tokenized currency deals, and livestock auctions. A public-private partnership between the Reserve Bank of Australia and the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Center is leading the project. The study will examine use cases for a CBDC and will include Mastercard, ANZ and Commonwealth Bank as partners.

The trial period for the trial of selected pilot projects will be extended until the end of May. Once the program is complete, a report will compile the results and outline the next steps expected by mid-2023. Brad Jones, vice-president for financial systems at the Reserve Bank of Australia, said the pilot would “contribute to hands-on learning by the industry and contribute to policy makers’ understanding of how a CBDC could potentially benefit the Australian financial system and economy.”
