On that cold December night in 1980, Jean Hilliard miraculously came back to life after accidentally being frozen solid. Science has a hard time explaining this story, but Jean’s story has gone down in history as a true miracle of survival.

In December 1980, 19-year-old Jean Hilliard was returning home to Lengby, Minnesota.

While returning home after an evening out with friends, he lost control of his vehicle on the icy road and crashed. He slid into a ditch on the side of the road.

Jean’s skin had turned gray and, although his eyes were open, he did not respond to light. His body was completely frozen, It was impossible to even stick a needle into his skin.

Her condition was so serious that doctors thought Jean had almost no chance of survival. Brain activity was almost zero and there was no sign of pulse or blood pressure in his body. Even his legs had turned black, indicating a possible amputation.
