The West demonstratively close ranks at the Munich Security Conference

Munich The Munich Security Conference (MSC), Germany’s most important foreign and security policy conference, is taking place for the first time while war is being waged on our own doorstep. Right at the beginning, the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is connected via video, who had already demanded last year to support his country with the delivery of heavy weapons. Selenski is likely to repeat this appeal with great urgency on Friday.

Also on Friday, Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), who claims to have formed an international coalition for the delivery of heavy battle tanks to Ukraine, will answer questions from the conference participants.

It is the second time in a row that Scholz is taking part in the conference. His predecessor in the Chancellery, Angela Merkel, only attended the foreign and security policy event every two years.
