The Ukraine war and shaky stock markets are affecting financial start-ups

Frankfurt Neobank Penta needs money again. The Berlin company wants to collect 40 million euros. But it could be one of the first financial technology start-ups to feel that money is no longer so easy with investors. It can be heard from the environment of possible interested parties that the price expectations are very ambitious.

Like many other start-ups, Penta wants to sell company shares to venture capitalists. According to Handelsblatt information, those involved hope for a valuation of 350 to 500 million euros. For the young business customer bank, that would at best be a fivefold increase on the most recent rating from August.
