Gülseven Özkan from Independent Turkish states that the website was closed due to the reasons set forth in Article 8/A of the Internet Law No. 5651 in her news, which she based on an official from the Information Technologies and Communications Authority.

In 2015, with the law numbered 6639, a new article was added to the Law No. 5651 on the Regulation of Publications Made on the Internet and Fighting Against Crimes Committed Through These Publications. The following statements are included in the relevant article (8/A) titled ‘Removing the content and/or preventing access in cases where it is inconvenient to delay’:

“The Presidency or the national security and public order, prevention of crime, in cases where the judge or delay is inconvenient due to one or more of the reasons such as the right to life and the protection of life and property of persons, the protection of national security and public order, the prevention of crime or the protection of general health. or upon the request of the Ministries related to the protection of general health, the President may decide to remove the content and/or block the access regarding the broadcast on the internet.
