The number of corona deaths in Germany has reached its highest level since February – the incidence is falling slightly

The outgoing Federal Minister of Health Jens Spahn (CDU) is still skeptical about a general compulsory corona vaccination. Nevertheless, he thinks the debate about it is important: “Because it has a reason. We have a good twelve million unvaccinated adults in Germany, and this number is too large, ”said Spahn on Tuesday evening in the ZDF’s“ heute journal ”.

Spahn affirmed that he was consistent in favor of 2G rules, i.e. access to many areas only for vaccinated and convalescent people – “if you like, also for the whole of 2022”. A general compulsory vaccination does not only have legal aspects, but also social, ethical, medical and practical aspects, including the question of how compulsory vaccination should be enforced and controlled.

When asked about the lack of a vaccine in the doctor’s offices, Spahn said he understood that there was frustration and anger in everyday life. “I can only apologize for that.” They have enough vaccine that the goal of 30 million vaccinations can be achieved in the next few weeks. He could “hand over an ordered field” to his successor Karl Lauterbach (SPD).
