Dusseldorf While Volkswagen was surpassed by Renault in 2020, the group will kick off its electric offensive in 2021. The first eleven months of the year make it clear that VW is serious: The Wolfsburg-based company has sold significantly more electric cars than the competition. This is confirmed by the official registration statistics of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA): From January to November 2021, 63,880 electric cars of the group were registered.
Every fourth Stromer sold in Germany comes from Volkswagen. However, the top position in the sales statistics is occupied by the US electrical pioneer Tesla. Without the Gigafactory in Grünheide, the Californians are dependent on imports. Nevertheless, the Model 3 ends up at the very top of the paragraph.
