Frankfurt Rosina* has already done it. The bookseller left the city of Frankfurt a few years ago and moved to the countryside. She and her husband longed for their own house – in the Main metropolis it would simply have been too expensive for the couple. A step that is no longer uncommon. High rents and house prices in the German metropolises are attracting more and more interested parties to the commuter belt. But the real estate boom and home office trend have recently caused prices to rise here as well.
