The long-term prospects for investors are better than they have been since 2010

Stocks and bonds have collapsed this year. The entry opportunities for long-term investors have thus improved.

Frankfurt The markets have been on a cautious recovery course for several weeks. Nevertheless: 2022 will go down in investment history as a horror year. The highest rates of inflation and the most rapid interest rate hikes by the central banks in more than 40 years have caused share and bond prices to collapse in equal measure. The world stock index MSCI World and the comparable world government bond index FTSE World Government Bond have each lost around 18 percent since January.

This scares many investors. However, wealth accumulation requires a long-term investment horizon – and the outlook for this has improved significantly. That’s the conclusion of JP Morgan Asset Management’s annual long-term study.
